Enjoyed listening to Mary Ann on the Coast Show last night. I am especially interested in her comments about pets, since "Missy," our husky-shepherd of 15 yrs., died in 2003. She was our best canine family member, part of our TV pilot & a life-saver in so many ways. "Missy" is greatly missed & loved.

I am actually disappointed that the show does not reflect what you really do. Why don't they show the truth, that you create the light and see it yourself? The entire premise of your gift is based on crossing over into the light. And the sexy cleavage is just stupid. The show Medium is much closer to the truth of the real Alison's gift.

I was very disappointed that Mary Ann's 4th hour appearance on Nov 17 - was not with George when he was live on the Queen Mary (the live Coast2Coast Queen Mary Ghost Festival). All of those people who are trying to record ghosts are so boring !! Why wasn't Mary Ann on LIVE at the Queen Mary - so she could SEE the spirits and describe them??? Follow the money??? Would Mary Ann spoil the show of all the people who make their living working with spirits?

I am reall hooked on the ghost whisper. I have watched every episode, read on the CBS web site what James V. has to write. One thing does not make any sense to me. On the CBS site it was written that this story was based on a true life experience of James V., but what I have heard Mary Ann say is that she sees only earthbound spirits where James V. sees on that have passed over. What is this about. One the CBS site he says that the spirits were earthbound and that he released them. Can anyone help me? I am confused.

I've been watching the series since it started, what a great show ! I have always been a fan and a "believer" in spirits, ghosts, orbs etc. since I was a child. The show is well written and I think Jennifer is wonderful! I'm definetly going to keep watching!

Watched the show for the first time Friday (Oct 14).It is refreshing to watch something that is not full of sex and violence; something that you can learn realistic and actual things about the afterlife. It's apparent that Mary Ann reviews the scripts to maintain the integrity of her precious gift. I'm "hooked"!

I am really enjoying the show and can relate to the feelings of the characters. This week's show focused on her husband being an unwilling channel.

As a healer myself, I am very familiar with my own clients feelings of anxiety and the feeling of overwhelming dispair that is courtesy of the unwanted "visitors" and attachments of spirits.

Good stuff...as long as they continue to use your input for realism, it will continue to fascinate (and educate) people in a non-threatening way.

Bless You!!

I only heard the last hour today.(they rebroadcast the next day). My ex-wife an I were just talking about this dream she had with her father, he just passed in July. I had a partial interpretation for her dream, and we also thought maybe her father was communicating to her.
The funny thing is that I just "happened" to listen to the show tonight and have been talking about this dream the past few days. Thanks for the show... what little I heard.

The Show was Number One in it's time slot---even took in a 13 share---an unlucky number for a lucky TV series.

Honestly I liked it but I thought they could have done better. Parts were too much of a rip off of Medium. Like with JLH and her husband in bed and the bad dreams she wakes up from. I thought that really cheapened the show.

The other thing I thought was sort of dumb was how freaked JLH got when the ghost originally started showing up. I mean come on, if you've had this gift your entire life then why would you be freaked out, I could see being startled but that's not how they made it seem on the show.

The only other part I thought was sort of bad was when she was looking out the window at her husband in the rain and the ghost walks behind her, sort of reminded me of a horror movie, wouldn't the ghost come right up to her?

Oh, and the fact she had the compass from the ghost that happen to come into her antique shop, sort of reminded me of the Friday the 13th television show that was on many years ago, just wasn't too believable and sort of cheesy. Makes me think each show will have some piece of garbage come into her shop and that's how she gets linked to the ghosts. What are the odds?

While the intro is cool it also felt like a rip off of Desperate House Wife’s. Also, did anyone else think it looked like Gary Coleman popping out of one the holes in the ground?

Also, shouldn't she be encouraging them all to go into the light like Mary Ann does? She didn't really push for that, found it especially odd when her husband’s brother showed up.

Other than that stuff I thought the show was great (was a little sad though). I really hope they develop it a little better and make it more distinguishable from Medium and other Horror shows from the past. I really hope it sticks around. I really like JLH and thought she was great to watch in this.

J Raymond...

I believe I that I had a conversation with something other than that of flesh and blood .... he spoke quietly, politely and very old worldish.... he came up to me in the dark. one summer night, while camping... he was suddenly there.... I could only see his face in the darkness, mostly... and a vague shadow of the rest... he just showed up... and began speaking to me and two friends that were up late that night playing cards, in the woods, at a place said to be haunted by the spirits of confederate soldiers that froze or starved to death there. The location being a Union prison camp ... they had been left unproteced from the elements, with only a wool blanket supplied to shield them from the harsh winters on the Atlantic Coast.. this is a long story... LoL so maybe more later
:-)

Moving Target....

LoL "Other than that stuff I thought the show was great " what could possibly be left?

I absolutely loved the show, I loved all the little tidbits that were inserted from Maryann's book. I recorded the show and have watched it about 4 more times. This show is definitely a keeper, very lighthearted but serious at the same time. It is relaxing to finally get away from the reality tv junk and into good creative drama. Congrats

What's left?

Well I know I went on and on but what I did like was:

-JLH in the leading role (she's hot plus I like her acting)
-The topic.
-It's not another reality show (although that would probably be more interesting!)
-The story was really good (except for the part about the compass).
-The ghosts all over the place.
-The fact her friends weren't on her case like the annoying husband on Medium is.
-The way it was shot was good, except for the part I mentioned above that looked like a horror film.

Plus I love the fact a cool tv show is at least partially based on someone from NE Ohio!!

Another good episode! I laughed out loud a couple times! But it still had a teary ending.
I wonder if Mary Ann is happy with the show?? Personally, I love it! JLH was on the Ellen show Friday. JLH has have her own ghost experience herself... not seeing them but seeing a light switch move and the lights going out...she asked for them to turn back on and they did, she saw the switch move again. Hmmm....she must fit this role perfectly! lol

Felix,
Have you been able to get pics or video? Or a taped voice recording would be really something!!

This is a great show. It is a tear jerker thou. I have cried thru parts of both episodes.I still trying to figure out where I have seen the actor that plays her husband.Traditional Friday nights is not a good night for ratings. If it doesnt keep the ratings high . I hope CBS will give it a chance and move it to another night. A few yrs ago Fox moved Boston Public to Fridays from Mon and then canceled it.

2nd episode was great BUT I just can't watch stuff like that ever since becoming a parent. Too sad :-(Hopefully the next one won't be as sad or I'll be watching these alone because my wife can't take the sadness either. That little boy that played the ghost should win an award, he was so awesome.

I also liked the humor in this one as J Raymond pointed out. There were some really funny parts!

I too would like to know what Mary Ann thinks of it. Maybe she will post here?

Haven't missed an episode and I must say I'm totally hooked.

I really like the stories, they're not as sad now as some of the first episodes.

I LOVE JLH and her outfits. Was a big fan of her's in Party of Five and I must say she is just great to watch in this role.

Very entertaining, much better than Medium which sort of feels played out now.

I still think it's Gary Coleman's head poking out of one of the holes in the show's opening. Come on, someone else must see what I'm talking about!

I too would like to see some sort of credit to Mary Ann. Perhaps a guest appearance?

Hey, just wanted you to know that the greatest show on earth literally is Ghost Whisperer. I've been a fan of Love Hewitt since her barbie days, I would purchase all her kiddie videos for my nieces. I could not even imagine the show with anyone else but love. Love is the greatest she's got what it takes and then some, grace, beauty, smarts, and what I just respect the most is her ability of not letting it go to her head. Keep up the great work and hope you come to NY soon, I had the pleasure of meeting her once in 2001 and will love to run into her again. Much luck with your new show and in all you do. With all the love and respect you deserve.

There was one line said in the first episode that really bugged me: "Places aren't haunted... people are.". How in the world did that line get in, when it's simply not true...?

Places are haunted.

People can be, too.

This last episode was intrigueing, in terms of seeing a potential direction for the show to take, but likely not focus primarily on. The girl in the mental hospital with the deceased twin... It was a very good depiction of spirit attachment (a person being "haunted"), although, granted, with some "literary license".

All in all, GhostWhisperer deserves an "A" in my book...

I love it! To the armchair critics and naysayers, I say, give it a chance for goodness sake! EVERY SHOW started with a certain ambiguity as to where it was going. Perry Mason was portrayed as almost an arch-enemy of Hamilton Burger and Lieut Tragg. This mellowed over time to first-name basis. Hawkeye and Hot lips were bitter enemies and became friends and that dynamic produced its own subset of how people interact and help each other in times of stress. I see a lot of good things for "ghostwhisperer."

Melinda is Haunted by a Pilot & Flight Attendant on the next Ghost Whisperer 4/22/06

MELINDA IS HAUNTED BY THE SPIRITS OF AN AIRLINE PILOT AND FLIGHT ATTENDANT BEFORE THEIR JETLINER CRASHES OUTSIDE OF TOWN IN PART ONE OF THE TWO-PART FIRST SEASON FINALE OF "GHOST WHISPERER," FRIDAY, APRIL 28

"Free Fall" -- In an eerie twist of intuition, Melinda realizes that a jetliner is going to crash when she is contacted by its pilot and flight attendant before the incident occurs in part one of the two-part first season finale of GHOST WHISPERER, Friday, April 28 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. John Gray, one of the series' executive producers, directed and wrote the episode.

When the heat repeatedly goes out in Melinda's house and antique shop, she starts getting strange visits from the spirits of an airline pilot and flight attendant who complain of being cold. Initially Melinda has trouble understanding the messages they are trying to communicate, but she eventually figures out that they are trying to warn her about a jetliner that has lost cabin pressure and is going to crash outside of town. Despite Melinda's best efforts to warn transportation officials and townspeople, the jetliner crashes just outside of town, killing hundreds onboard and leading up to what will be Melinda's biggest challenge yet.

I really do enjoy the show! Congrats on the success! (I never had any doubts!) I keep watching hoping I will catch a familiar story line. Hope all is well with you and yours! Hopefully I will run into you next I am in C-land and at Mary's.

you made seeing death not scary, if fact normal. i was refreshing and inlightening. My mother has always dreamed of having picnic with the family who have passed on. her mother died at birth and has never felt that she belongs anywhere or anyone because of this. I seen things but cut it off out of fear. I had fireball come to me and rush through me, fighting with my tongue to not say words Ive neverheard. last week my uncle who had resently died came in my dreams and he was young wanted to talk to me, but I never remember the conversations. is my faith weak? love to talk more if possible.help me understand my gift.

Hi MaryAnn ... I was lucky enough to hear some of your segment with George Noory (very early on the drive to work 4am) I found it very thought provoking and am now doing more research ... Awesome !!
